Whereas, the Workforce Investment Act created a new workforce investment system which is customer-focused and quality driven, and
Whereas, the services of the workforce investment system are to be delivered by a seamless system created through the collaboration of entities responsible for separate workforce development funding streams and a network of affiliate partners to be called a One Stop System, and
Whereas, the Workforce Development Board has envisioned three full service Career Centers in Oswego County, and
Whereas, the Workforce Development Board recognizes the budget crisis of State of New York and understands the Department of Labor's need to reduce its physical office presence in Oswego County, and
Whereas, the Department of Labor has requested that its Oswego County based staff be integrated into the existing full service Career Centers,
Therefore Let It Be Resolved, that on this day March 19, 2003, the Workforce Development Board, Inc. of Oswego County, will hold its vision in temporary abeyance, and
Be it further resolved, that the Workforce Development Board, Inc. of Oswego County supports the integration of Department of Labor staff into the existing Career Centers with the understanding that the same high level of service to Oswego County businesses and job seekers as we have known to have will be continued, and
Be it further resolved, that the Workforce Development Board, Inc. of Oswego County charges the partners in the system to be trained to perform the duties of the Job Bank System in order to ensure that same high level of service to Oswego County businesses.
This resolution shall be sent to the Net York State Department of Labor and each of the partners in the Oswego County workforce development system.
